Individual Therapy & Counseling in Asheville

You are sick of sounding like a broken record every time you talk about your life with a friend or family member.  You are annoyed with yourself because you still are sitting with the same struggles over and over. Relationships feel blegh. Your career? - who knows what you are supposed to be doing there. And life just feels grey, boring, and kinda unhappy. You feel stuck but you just can't seem to take the steps that you need to change your life.

Your struggles can be a lot of figure out on your own. This is where individual therapy comes in. I help people find freedom in the messy ways that stress, overwhelm, and anxiety shows up in their lives.

I view individual therapy and personal counseling as a process to explore, air out and shed some light onto the struggle and shame that people usually keep buried deep inside. Bringing your struggle or shame out in the light helps it heal. When our struggles are met with deep listening, compassion, and understanding, it helps to melt away the shame and self-criticism. Individual therapy is about learning to be curious and gentle with ourselves so that our truest selves can come forward.

By developing fierce compassion for yourself, and finding different ways to look at things, you allow for new understanding and healing to emerge. Let's work together to, help you:

  • Reduce stress and anxiety

  • Feel grounded

  • Manage depression

  • Improve anger management

  • Find more joy and feel lighter

  • Become empowered to speak your truth

  • See more possibilities for your life

  • Live boldly as your authentic self

How do I work as an Individual Therapist in Asheville?

As an individual therapist and counselor in Asheville, I bring compassion, curiosity, humor, and my humanness to my interactions with others. We will work together to get clear about what you are looking to change in your life and engage in a process to make sure these mental health changes are happening.

My therapy approach is holistic which means I think about your wellbeing as a whole and may make recommendations for additional healing opportunities outside of therapy sessions. Examples of these suggestions could be neurofeedback, meditation, acupuncture, herbalism, visiting your doctor, getting a medication evaluation, social opportunities or practicing skills learned in therapy and counseling sessions.

One of the most calming and powerful actions you can do to intervene in a stormy world is to stand up and show your soul... Struggling souls catch light from other souls who are fully lit and willing to show it.
